Forte Sorgnano has a beautiful position, in green countryside in the heart of Umbria. Lying between Assisi and Perugia, Todi and Montefalco, this collection of farmhouses dates back to the last century.
Now, following a careful renovation, the farmhouses offer modern comforts while still reflecting their heritage. The estate sits atop a hill, 450 metres above sea level, with panoramic views and utter peace. This is unspoiled nature, and the fruits are everywhere, as you'll discover when you try the local foods and wines.
There are three farmhouses. The main one has eight double apartments (each 2+2); the second farmhouse has two triples (4+2) and the landlord's house plays host to the restaurant and individual rooms. Each of the apartments has double bedrooms, living room with double sofa bed, kitchen/ette and bathroom. All have satellite TV, independent central heating, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, hairdryer and everything you need to cook.
The rooms, meanwhile, on the first floor of the main house, are serviced double rooms. Bright and welcoming, they are each 20/25 square metres, with a view of the olive grove and the surrounding hills. On the ground level, you will find a welcoming reading room (with books in Italian and English), where you can relax in a friendly environment. The decor of the room is typical ancient Umbrian style with oak beams, terracotta tiles. Additionally every room has a bathroom, satellite TV, heating and hair dryer.
Forte Sorgnano is a farm which extends for 280 hectares. 180 consist of wood within which you can find every species of tree, including ilex, chestnut and fir. The remainder, around the house, is a beautiful organic olive grove. The estate produces extra virgin olive oil, which is sent around the world. Forte Sorgnano offers much for the active visitor. From the swimming pool to mountain bike riding, from ping pong, to the opportunity to walk along the local trails. There is horse riding, hiking, and a large barbecue with a furnished green space available for pleasant evenings outdoors.
Extra services include an airport shuttle to Perugia, Pisa and Rome, a personal driver or tour guide, and discounts in local shops, to purchase typical Umbrian products, from Deruta ceramics to cashmere, from cured meats to lace from Montefalco.
