Holiday apartments in the heart of Chianti - Tuscany, Italy
La Selvetta opened in 2007 and
is a country farmhouse situated at the top a gentle hill overlooking
the vineyards of the 'Colli Fiorentini', and the valley of the Elsa river.
This is the perfect base for families and couples for a relaxing holiday
in the heart of the Chianti wine country. Many of the marvels of Tuscany
are within an easy drive (San Gimignano, Volterra and the Chianti countryside
are within half an hour) while Florence, Siena, Pisa and Lucca are
only a little further. Closer by are some lesser-known treasures, like
the nearby hill town of Certaldo, abuzz each July with its medieval
pageant, the Mercantia, and a frequent venue for concerts and art exhibitions.
You can also catch a train from Empoli (10 minutes drive from Selvetta)
to Florence or Siena.
The holiday house is divided into nine air-conditioned apartments.
The swimming pool is equipped with a jacuzzi. Each apartment has its
own private sitting out area with tables and chairs. There is a laundry
room with a washing machine and drier for guests' use (detergent provided,
small charge).
The property is in an ideal location between Pisa and Florence and
is very well located for touring the area. There is a train station
10km away(Empoli), and from here you can hop on a train to the centre
of Florence (it takes 15-20 minutes). The swimming pool is 15x9 metres
and open from 10 May to 20 September. There is a 5000sqm garden for
shared use and garden furniture. Vehicle access to the house is via
a 250 metre unmade road, with parking by the house. The grocery store
is 2km, supermarket 8km, railway stations at Castelfiorentino (8km)
or Empoli (10km), with a golf course 25km away. Florence is 50km, Volterra
45km, Pisa 55km, San Gimignano 45km.
