This area of the Florentine hills has
been cited by some historical authors as being one of the most beautiful places
in the world. Thanks to the narrow and charming lanes surrounding Villa Le Gaie,
traffic hardly exists, and it's possible to enjoy long walks thorough open and
quiet spaces; you'll soon reach Piazzale Michelangelo (the finest views over
Florence), Forte Belvedere and downtown Florence.
Nearby you can find Arcetri’s Observatory and Villa Il Gioiello, places where
Galileo Galilei lived and worked, in turn close to the convent where his daughter
Maria was a nun. Arcetri is ideally located on the hills of Florence’s most
prestigious area. It is a small paradise immersed in the countryside, yet is
just 10 minutes away from downtown Florence. The location allows enjoyment of
a beautiful and relaxing country setting, while, at the same time it, is only
minutes away from the main highways to Siena, Pisa, Volterra, San Gimignano
and beyond.
Villa Le Gaie is at about 7 kilometres from the centre of the city, which can
be reached easily with one bus journey; the bus runs every 15 minutes and the
journey takes roughly 15 minutes. The bus stop is found at roughly 500 metres
from the property.
The villa is divided into three separate apartments; the ground floor (with
private entrance) is home to Signora Guazzini and her family, with the upper
floor given over completely to the rental apartments. The other two holiday
apartments share a common entrance. Each apartment is spacious, sunny, quiet
and air-conditioned and the villa is surrounded by a garden that is very meticulously
kept. Both apartments has a private parking area and private terraces equipped
with tables and chairs for al fresco eating and relaxing. The apartments at
the first floor are designed and furnished in the same elegant style as the
home of Miss Guazzini. The owner has personally directed the restoration of
the house and her impeccable taste in colour and fabrics is seen throughout.
Signora Guazzini and her family are always available for advice and assistance.
Villa Le Gaie is located at roughly 70 yards from another of our Tuscan rental
properties, Villa Le Piazzole. At Villa Le
Gaie you have total access to the swimming pool at a neighbouring property.
The pool is only 30 yards from the house, but please be aware that you are likely
to be sharing it with others (maximum 18 people).
