Holiday flat to rent in Florence, Tuscany
Lying on the Via Santo Spirito, in central Florence, this elegant and
comfortable holiday apartment sleeps 2+3, with one bedroom and two bathrooms.
This
very nice Florence vacation lies on an old street in the historic heart
of Florence. The medieval buildings here once belonged to powerful Florentine
families of the Middle Ages and beyond – the Frescobaldi, Medici, Lanfredini,
Manetti and Caponi families.
Via Santo Spirito is located on the ‘other’ side
of the River Arno, away from the main tourist traps around the cathedral,
and near to the Piazza Santo Spirito,
one of Florence’s most beautiful squares. The other side perhaps, but then nothing
is very far away in Florence – there’s plenty to see but this is a city easily
manageable on foot, everything is within an easy walk.
So what should you stroll
to see? Well the Pitti Palace, the Boboli Gardens,
and Masaccio’s frescoes in the Carmine are within easy reach. Then you should
cross the Ponte Vecchio, explore the galleries at the Uffizi and take a look
at the Piazza della Signoria (we estimate that all are within eight minutes walk).
The immediate neighbourhood of Santo Spirito, meanwhile, is very lively. Here
you’ll find plenty of coffee bars (and excellent coffee of course), restaurants
for every taste and budget, banks, grocers and other shops. There are even several
language schools close by.
And you’re very close to the famous Ponte San Trinita,
leading to Via Tornabuoni and close to the Via Maggio, with its many antique
shops.
