Villa Altoviti - fine Tuscan apartment, large garden and sun terrace. Vacation rental close to Florence.
The property is located in the hills
close to Florence, just 7 kilometres from the city outskirts and 13 to the very
centre of town. The oldest parts of the villa date back to 1297; owned by the
Marchesi Aldoviti, the villa was completed in its present form at the end of
the 15th century and part of the interior boasts a beautiful frescoed ceiling
by Luca Giordano (1680).
Between the villa and the adjacent farm there is an enchanting Italian garden
with numerous lemon plants, and it is in the farm that we find the three apartments.
Apartments 'Terrrace' and 'Gazebo' (both approx. 100 square metres) are both
on the first floor, and apartment 'Villa' (approx. 200 square metres) is on
the ground floor.
Guests also have the use of the 1000 square metre garden, fully equipped with
umbrellas and garden furniture. Private parking is available 20 yards from the
house.
There is a public swimming pool about half a mile from the property, very rarely
used by the locals. There is a restaurant 350 yards from the house (closed on
Wednesdays), and a bank, drug store, food shops, supermarket and post office
are all 1.5 km from the property.
