Le Terrazze apartment is located in the heart of Rome, within walking distance of the Campo dei Fiori and Piazza Venezia. This fifth floor apartment is the result of a restoration of a part of an antique Piano Nobile, built during 1500's by the ancestors of the family that owns the palace to this day.

Le Terrazze is located in the same palazzo as another of our rental properties, Apartment Mattei. The main entrance is from Piazza Mattei - a beautiful small square with a central fountain in a historical neighbourhood. From here, one can walk to all of Rome's most famous sites. The Pantheon and the Piazza Navona area each about a 5 minutes' walk away, and the Capitoline Museums and splendid views from the Capitoline Hill, plus the Roman and Imperial Forums are maybe 7 minutes away.

Walking south from the apartment one quickly reaches the Tiber River just at the point where a tiny island divides it: this is the Isola Tiberina. Cross over the island and into the enchanting area known as Trastevere with its narrow alleys, artisan shops, and restaurants. To reach the Vatican, the main train station or other destinations not so readily found on foot, a main hub of public transportation is found in a nearby square, the Largo di Torre Argentina.

The flat is in a car-free zone, so it is quiet for the area and the views from the two terraces (!) are really dramatic, full of red-roof tiles and monuments.

Apartment Le Terrazze is found on the fifth floor (there is an elevator) of a palazzo dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. One enters into a bi-level living room with a nice fireplace that opens onto a dining room/kitchen. The kitchen is very well equipped, with hob, fridge – freezer, microwave, oven, dishwasher, toaster and American coffee machine. From the kitchen/dining room, thanks to a French window, there is direct access to large terrace that is furnished for dining al fresco or for sunning and enjoying the views. A winding staircase leads to a second furnished terrace with even better views! In the living room are TV and telephone. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed and the main bathroom, accessed from the hall, has a Jacuzzi tub. The second bedroom is a twin-bedded room with a bathroom with shower across the hall. Across the front of the apartment is a long, narrower balcony that connects to the main large terrace off of the living room. Both bedrooms open onto this long balcony.
