Villa Nozzolino is a beautiful and elegant old Tuscan holiday villa. Now expertly restored it beautifully marries traditional, unspoiled style and modern comfort, and sleeps seven guests, with 3+1 bathrooms and a swimming pool.

The villa lies at the end of a secondary road, and enjoys a tranquil, raised setting just outside the little town of Greve in Chianti (the heart of the Chianti Classico wine region). Outside, the villa provides beautiful views of the countryside from its large, trellis-shaded patio. Inside, the combination of ancient wooden beams and rustic terracotta floor tiles strikes the perfect note – this is traditional Tuscany. With its pretty colour-washed walls and hand-picked antique furnishings, the restored villa has an ambience both grand and in sympathy with the historic fabric of the building.

The villa itself is part of a winery owned by an old Florentine family, renowned for producing one of Italy’s finest wines.

On the ground floor, a welcoming entrance hall leads to a lovely living room with an impressive fireplace. This in turn leads to the dining room. The kitchen is charmingly rustic, decorated with copper pots, but resolutely practical and well equipped; it has a handy laundry room to the rear.

The ground floor has a studio room with a single bed, a small bathroom and a veranda with direct access to the garden and swimming pool area. All the rooms have wood-beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. Up to the first floor and you’ll find a comfortable living-room; there are two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms with shower. A further double bedroom has twin beds and en-suite bathroom with shower.

All the three bedrooms on the first floor of this Tuscany holiday villa have air conditioning. There is a telephone, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine, iron, satellite TV, DVD, VCR, laundry facilities, heating control panel, a small shed in garden and, of course, the private 12m swimming pool.

Lying within half an hour’s drive of Florence, Villa Nozzolino is well placed for exploring. The nearby villages of Greve, Montefioralle, Panzano in Chianti and Impruneta boast an array of great restaurants within 20 minutes drive. Or just stay lazing by the pool – there are great views from here. The house is surrounded by vineyards and a little lake.

The nearest shops are in Greve in Chianti, five minutes away, and Montefioralle a minute further. Panzano is 15 minutes away, Impruneta 20. The nearest golf course is 15 minutes drive. Florence is 20km away, Siena 35km and Rome 260km.
