This beautifully restored villa lies in the lovely little village of Stibbio, 7km from San Miniato in the heart of Tuscany. Sleeping 16-22, with 5+2 bedrooms and 8+1 bathrooms, the house has a swimming pool.

The house dates from the late 15th century and was built by the Medici family. Totalling around 450 square metres it offers lots of space, charm and history. Furnished with antiques it also has modern comforts including wireless internet, hi-fi, satellite TV, air conditioning and heating.

From the windows and the terrace you have a stunning view and of the forest and the Tuscan hills, cultivated with olive trees. From the garden of the villa a path takes you into the valley, the large garden and the pool. This area has changing rooms and toilets, tables and deckchairs. There is horseriding here, and you can rent bikes or hike the superb countryside around.

San Miniato itself, a lovely old town is famed for its architecture, for the white truffle, for its wine and olive oil. The town has a nine-hole golf course. Vinci is 23km from here and San Gimignano, Certaldo and Volterra are all within 60km. Pisa is 41km, Florence 43km, Lucca 74km, Siena 112km. This is a landscape of medieval villages, castles and lovely landscapes, with the Tyrrhenian coast and the nightlife of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi an hour away.


The Ministry of Cultural Assets has named the house a building of historic interest, with a stone testifying that Jacopo Medici enlarged the villa in 1595. The main door of the house opens into the great hall, with a beautiful wooden ceiling and walls drawn with flowers. In the hall there is a big fireplace, its frame and its seats are made of stone, the floor of the main room is made of terracotta and the original doors have frames of stone. In this room the guests can sit around a big table to taste typical Tuscan cooking, prepared by an expert chef. The house has a big and well-equipped kitchen, and on the ground floor is a sitting room, TV room, reading room and terrace (leading to a second, larger terrace, ideal for breakfast or evening drinks).

From the main staircase of the hall you climb to the great room, originally used as a granary and as a warehouse, and now furnished with a big and comfortable sofa, armchairs and parquet floor.

From here you enter the five bedrooms, all double except one which is linked to another room with a single bed. Every room has a private bathroom, telephone, wireless internet and a small safety box. All have air conditioning.

The ground floor studio room has a grand piano, and there is a library, kitchen (a full stove with six burners, range-top, open grill, full refrigerator/freezer, oven and dishwasher, fireplace, table for 10 people and three bathrooms.

The first floor hall has hifi and television and a library. Each bedroom has its own plasma screen television and telephone.

The dependance lies 200 metres from the villa. This 70 square metre guest apartment has a shower bath, kitchen/living room (with double sofa bed), one double bedroom and one twin bedroom sleeping 4+2; it is totally independent from the house.

Services include air conditioning, satellite television, change of linen twice a week, washer/dryer on premises, hairdryers in each bathroom. Services upon request include welcome dinner, cook and catering, daily maid service, laundry Service, personal trainer, horse riding, cooking lessons, golf, limousine and taxi service.
