VILLA FOR RENT CLOSE TO SAN GIMIGNANO, TUSCANY

Villa delle Torre, south of Siena and close to San Gimignano, was once a Tuscan fortress stronghold, now beautifully converted into holiday rental accommodation. The villa may be rented as a whole (sleeping 10 plus), and, with a large swimming pool, this makes for a luxurious destination for your Italian holiday.

For many years the villa lay abandoned, left derelict and open to the elements. Today, it has been bought back to life as a beautiful villa, restored with strict attention to the demands of heritage and conservation. Furnished with antiques and Tuscan handicraft furniture, it has draped beds and luxuriant curtains harmonise with the colours of the walls. Rich fabrics, paintings and family treasures and heirlooms complement the opulence of your surroundings. The floors and ceilings are set with antique handmade tiles, chestnut beams rise overhead, and the arched ceilings and capacious fireplaces will transport you back to the richness of mediaeval Tuscany.

All is complemented by every modern convenience; the house has satellite TV, air conditioning and heating. The bedrooms all have a safe and mosquito netting, and each has a private bathroom with a wall-attached hairdryer and shower or bathtub. There are optional luxuries too, such as a basket of groceries on your arrival; full board with your own personal chef; extra cleaning and personal laundry services; car and bike rental, and shuttle services to and from the airports at Florence, Pisa, Bologna and Rome.

The villa comprises five double rooms and a suite, a comfortable living room where guests can watch satellite TV, a small study for any private work you have; and a large dining/living room. There is a choice of twin-bedded rooms (beds can be combined to make one double bed), double-bedded rooms, and a double suite.

Villa delle Torre is surrounded by 12 hectares of private grounds, and looks out on a terraced garden with gazebo. The guests have exclusive use of the swimming pool (set amidst the trees of the grounds, and next to an olive grove) and lovely gardens. Treks and walks through the ancient woodlands are a welcome way to enjoy this lovely part of Tuscany.

The property is situated between three of Tuscany's most historically and culturally fascinating cities - Siena, Florence and Volterra. But even within the hamlet of Monti itself, where the villa is located, you'll find plenty to excite you. Monti sits on a hill with a 360° panoramic view, including the towers of San Gimignano, a few minutes away from the town.
