Villa dei Colli Senesi is a huge luxury house to rent in Colle di Val D'Elsa, Chianti, Tuscany. It sleeps 35 in luxury in 18 bedrooms, with 22 bathrooms. Fully air-conditioned, it has a pool, staff, gardens and superb views.

The villa totals 1500 square metres over four floors, with an annex of 450 sqm. Situated in the heart of Tuscany, between Siena and Florence, this villa (owned for centuries by an Italian aristocratic family) is encircled by spectacular gardens, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.

Dating back to 1400, additional building was carried out was added between 1700 and 1800, while the whole building was restructured with loving care during 1996-1997. Ideally situated between Siena (20 minutes) and Florence (40 minutes), Villa dei Colli Senesi is located in the heart of Tuscany. Destinations like San Gimignano (20 minutes), Monteriggioni (10 minutes), Volterra (30 minutes) and Montalcino (one hour and 10 minutes) are within easy daytrip distance. Rome is a little less than three hours away.

Surrounded by spectacular grounds and gardens, Villa dei Colli Senesi offers breathtaking views of the Chianti countryside. While the villa can accommodate large groups, it also offers smaller, private spaces for quiet relaxation. Its gardens and patios are designed to provide maximum privacy and to take advantage of the lovely views of rolling hills, olive groves, and vineyards that surround the property.

A stately row of cypress trees leads to a large iron gate, the entrance to the estate. The villa is on four floors. On the ground floor is a spacious living room with several sitting areas, all beautifully furnished with antiques and tapestry rugs as well as a CD player and karaoke machine. Three separate but adjoining dining rooms can accommodate large groups but have been designed so that smaller groups will still feel comfortable. Each opens onto the south patio of the villa. The main kitchen, designed for professional cooks, is available for cooking lessons on request. On the same level is a spacious suite with a large sitting room and a queen bedroom with en suite bath.

The Piano Nobile, the main entrance to the villa, is reached by a short staircase from the courtyard. The elegant taste of the owners is evident immediately. On this level is a sitting room with wall-mounted plasma-screen TV (satellite), DVD, VCR, and Playstation. There are six bedrooms on this level: one single, a spacious suite with double bedroom and sitting room, and four additional double bedrooms, all with en suite bath. There is an additional bathroom for guests using the TV room or the large terrace, furnished with teak dining tables and built-in benches.


On the second floor, another spacious sitting room opens onto a large balcony. On this floor there are six bedrooms: two double rooms with twin beds (not joinable), three queen bedrooms, and a king bedroom. All of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms.

The lower level of the house has been fully restored, but an ancient olive press, once powered by oxen, has been left intact. There is a billiard room with an antique pool table, and a cantina, decorated with interesting artifacts from the estate's agricultural past. A private entrance from the courtyard leads to the guesthouse. The sitting area, with TV and comfortable seating, opens onto the courtyard. There is an elegant double bedroom on this level, with en suite bath. Upstairs there are two queen bedrooms, each with its own en suite bath.

Villa dei Colli Senesi has central heating for cooler months and is fully air conditioned, including the guesthouse. Every amenity has thoughtfully been provided and immaculately cared for. There is a wine cellar, a landing area for small planes and helicopters, a tennis court, swimming pool and Jacuzzi, sauna, barbecue, and croquet. Horseback riding and golf are available nearby.
