The property is located in the hills close to Florence, just 7 kilometres from the city outskirts and 13 to the very centre of town. The oldest parts of the villa date back to 1297; owned by the Marchesi Aldoviti, the villa was completed in its present form at the end of the 15th century and part of the interior boasts a beautiful frescoed ceiling by Luca Giordano (1680).

Between the villa and the adjacent farm there is an enchanting Italian garden with numerous lemon plants, and it is in the farm that we find the three apartments. Apartments 'Terrrace' and 'Gazebo' (both approx. 100 square metres) are both on the first floor, and apartment 'Villa' (approx. 200 square metres) is on the ground floor.

Guests also have the use of the 1000 square metre garden, fully equipped with umbrellas and garden furniture. Private parking is available 20 yards from the house.
There is a public swimming pool about half a mile from the property, very rarely used by the locals. There is a restaurant 350 yards from the house (closed on Wednesdays), and a bank, drug store, food shops, supermarket and post office are all 1.5 km from the property.

APARTMENT VILLA (200 SQM. GROUND FLOOR 4+2 PEOPLE, 2 BATHROOMS)

The apartment Villa has a large panoramic balcony from where you can admire the surrounding hills and view onwards towards the city of Florence. At the back of the villa are some old and extensive parklands. The apartment has an independent entrance to the villa, and guests have a key for the automatic gates to the property - there is private parking at 20 metres from the villa.

There is an additional approach to the property via the long and ancient cypress-lined avenue seen in the photographs. The apartment Villa has its own private entrance and, although your hosts live right here in the remaining part of the building, it enjoys total privacy. Superbly furnished and lovingly restored to remain as traditional as possible, the use of reds and oranges lends a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout. The living room (featuring a snooker table) is connected to the dining room via a beautiful stone archway, and the dining room in turn leads on to the wonderful sun terrace, fully equipped with chairs and tables. This is the perfect spot for your al fresco evenings with wonderful open views of the Florentine hills. The kitchen is fully equipped with hob, fridge and freezer as well as a wood oven for traditional pizza-making - kettles, toasters and American-style coffee machine are available on request.

There is also a laundry room off the lounge with washing machine and ironing facilities. The sleeping areas are separated form the living and dining rooms by a large tiled corridor. Here you'll enjoy the comfort of a smaller sitting room with double sofa-bed, plus one bedroom with two twin beds and a brand-new bathroom with stall shower. In addition, the master bedroom has a double bed, plus a 400-square-foot marble bathroom with twin showers and hair drier. On another, nicely secluded, side of the enormous villa are two apartments which will be ready for May, 2002; they are being designed and furnished in the same elegant style as the existing apartment, and they are both on the first floor, with no one overhead. Each apartment is spacious, sunny, quiet and air-conditioned.

APARTMENT GAZEBO (1100 SQUARE FEET, FIRST FLOOR, 2 BEDROOMS, 2 BATHROOMS, AIR CONDITIONING)

The apartment has a large living room, separate kitchen with full refrigerator/freezer, oven, 4-burner range and dishwasher. A flight of stairs leads up to the mansard bedroom with queen-sized bed and en suite bathroom with shower. A hallway leads from the living room to the second bedroom, which also has a queen-sized bed and an en suite bathroom with Jacuzzi shower. The apartment has a private gazebo in the garden with table and chairs.

APARTMENT TERRACE (1100 SQUARE FEET, FIRST FLOOR, 2 BEDROOMS, 2 BATHROOMS, AIR CONDITIONING)

This apartment has a private 160-square-foot terrace off the living room, which has a kitchenette as above. Both bedrooms here are at the end of the hall and share a large hall closet. One bedroom has a queen-sized bed and en suite bathroom with jacuzzi shower, the other has two twin beds and en suite bathroom with shower. Both rooms have tall mansard ceilings and nice views. None of the apartments at Villa Nobile has a land-line telephone, but the owner is happy to provide you with a cellphone free of charge, except of course for call charges.
